Description
As an Electrical Engineer at Pravaig, you will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of core battery electrical system components and assemblies. You will define, document, and design battery pack and battery module bussing and wiring components, overseeing the validation of these components and assemblies. Your role will involve applying technical knowledge to innovative designs, resolving challenges, and taking ownership of new product development activities. **Key Responsibilities:** - Take technical ownership and deliver electrical and electronics design throughout the development cycle. - Provide engineering support for the development of electronic hardware systems, including system integration. - Support prototype and engineering build during the development phase. - Possess expertise in contactor control, pre-charge, EMI, EMC, electrical power distribution, electrical interference, high-voltage junction boxes, and functional safety. - Define, size, select, and design cell electrical interconnections & bussing, module and pack high current and high voltage electrical interconnections & bussing, fusing, sensing, and control circuitry. - Collaborate with vendors to develop custom components meeting design development requirements. - Work with the mechanical engineering team to develop battery modules and protection control systems. - Ensure proper integration of the battery into the final system at the final assembly site. - Conduct rigorous failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective action, and communicate issues to cross-functional internal stakeholders. - Improve the high-voltage and high-power battery pack electrical and electronics architecture. - Ensure successful integration with other subsystems within the drivetrain. - Mentor and advise Design Release Engineers (DREs) on the team. **Desired Qualifications:** - Strong fundamentals in electrical and electronics. - Experience in safe implementation and selection of high-current carrying cables and high-voltage cables and busbars. - Proficiency in DFM, DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFA. - Basic understanding of CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS or UG NX and ability to learn new tools. - Strong leadership skills and proactive behavior. - Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering. - Familiarity with developing a product from concept to production. - Experience in micro-controller hardware implementation, including mixed signal circuit design and sensor integration. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. - Knowledge of electrical tests (EMC, fuse time/current characteristics, fuse coordination, electrical component durability) and equipment preferred. - Prior experience in HV EV charging systems.
