Job Description

You will be joining Newton School's engineering team as a Backend Software Development Engineer 1 (SDE-1). In this role, you will be responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining server-side components that power the applications. Your collaboration with a dynamic team of engineers will focus on building robust, scalable, and secure backend systems to support the growing user base. **Roles And Responsibilities:** - Develop and maintain backend services and APIs to meet product and business requirements. - Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in backend technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, C++, or Golang. - Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. - Design, build, and maintain databases for optimal performance and reliability. - Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services for speed and scalability. - Work on RESTful APIs and microservices architecture to enhance product functionality. - Contribute to code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high code quality. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams for feature delivery and assist in production deployments. **Key Skills:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 1-2 years of experience in backend development or similar roles. - Proficiency in backend programming languages like Java, Python, Ruby, Golang, C++, or Node.js. - Understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases like MongoDB. - Familiarity with RESTful APIs, HTTP, and web protocols. - Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git. - Basic understanding of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and good communication skills. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. - Familiarity with microservices architecture. - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Travis CI, or CircleCI. - Understanding of message queues like RabbitMQ, Kafka. - Knowledge of security best practices for backend development.,
