Role Description

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with expertise in JavaScript/Python, ExpressJS/FastAPI, PostgreSQL, PostGIS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building scalable and efficient backend systems and possess a passion for solving complex problems. The developer will be responsible for back-end web development tasks related to 3D spatial technology, including CAD and GIS, data modeling, processing, workflow orchestration, scheduling, stream-processing etc.. They will use their skills in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) to contribute to software development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Create and optimize database schemas, manage data models, and handle data processing tasks.
• Integrate with PostgreSQL and PostGIS for spatial and non-spatial data management.
• Implement asynchronous task processing and workflow orchestration.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure the performance, security, and reliability of backend systems.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to maintain code quality.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our systems.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in either of Python/FastAPI or Nodejs/ExpressJS.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and spatial databases such as PostGIS.
• Strong proficiency in spatial data processing, queries and storage
• Experience with asynchronous task processing frameworks
• Knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and data processing techniques.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Educational Qualifications:

• MSc. or ME. in GeoInformatic or GIS related field
• 3-5 years of experience as GIS backend developer is mandatory
• Hands-on experience with geospatial query is mandatory
