Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gearbox Design Engineer with expertise in mechanical power transmission systems for heavy machinery, especially geared systems for rolling mills, tube mills, and SPMs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing gearboxes from concept to detailed manufacturing drawings using advanced design tools. Key Responsibilities End-to-end design of industrial gearboxes for rolling mills and tube mills. Perform gear and shaft calculations using KISSsoft and/or in-house Excel tools. Selection and sizing of geared motors, couplings, bearings , and related components. Generate 3D models , assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks , Inventor , and AutoCAD Mechanical . Prepare layout plans , foundation drawings , and BOMs . Provide technical support to junior designers and production teams. Collaborate with clients for technical discussions, on-site support, and customizations . Continuous improvement of gearbox design to enhance performance and durability. Required Skills & Experience 4-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, particularly in gearbox design for heavy industrial equipment. Strong command over KISSsoft , SolidWorks , AutoCAD , Inventor , and MS Excel-based calculations . Experience in rolling mills, tube mills , and heavy fabrication machinery is highly preferred. Familiarity with hydraulic cylinder design , accumulator speed calculations , and conveyor system sizing . Excellent drawing interpretation and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior team members. Educational Qualification B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university. Preferred Certifications Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWPA) Sheet Metal (by Dassault Systmes) is a strong plus. Job Summary: As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading mechanical design efforts for UPS systems, including enclosures, thermal management, and structural integrity. This role involves overseeing design projects, performing advanced engineering analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust and efficient designs that meet industry standards. Responsibilities: - Lead the design, modeling, and development of UPS enclosures, cooling systems, and mechanical components with emphasis on structural design to meet harsh environments in accordance with Mil standards. - Utilize Autodesk Inventor to create and modify 3D models and generate detailed drawings. - Maintain and manage documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and revisions; create and process redlines and ECRs/ECNs, manage design changes. - Create and review detailed engineering drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly. - Select materials and manufacturing methods to ensure reliability, cost efficiency, and manufacturability. - Drive design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. - Work closely with electrical engineers, compliance teams, and manufacturing partners. - Develop and validate prototypes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations (UL, CE, IEEE, etc.). - Troubleshoot design and production challenges, providing innovative solutions. Identify and resolve production issues promptly to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations. - Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. - Direct, review, and approve work done by other mechanical engineers and engineering teams in India. - Conduct FEA and CFD analysis to optimize thermal and structural performance. Qualifications: - Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering and 3 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in UPS, power electronics, electrical enclosures, or related industries. - Alternatively, a combination of a degree and 10 years of experience will be considered. - Expertise in Autodesk Inventor for design and drafting. - Strong background in heat transfer and structural mechanics. - Proficiency in FEA and CFD tools for analysis and optimization. - Experience with mechanical design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA). - Familiarity with document control process and procedures. Preferably with M3 PLM/ERP software. - Familiarity with relevant industry standards and compliance requirements. - Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively, influence and motivate others.
