Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement core audio framework components with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Develop and maintain real-time audio pipelines for playback, capture, mixing, and processing.
Collaborate with hardware, DSP, firmware, and OS teams to ensure seamless integration across the audio stack.
Optimize audio latency, power usage, memory footprint, and CPU usage for various use cases.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and contribute to architectural decisions.
Drive debugging and resolution of complex system-level audio issues across multiple devices and platforms.
Contribute to the evolution of APIs and SDKs for developers leveraging the audio framework.
Ensure compliance with platform-specific audio standards and best practices.
Write robust documentation, unit tests, and performance benchmarks.

Required Skills

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
710 years of experience in audio systems, framework development, or low-level system programming.
Strong programming skills in
C/C++
with solid knowledge of real-time and multi-threaded development.
Proven experience with
audio frameworks
such as
Core Audio
,
OpenSL ES
,
ALSA
,
Audio HAL
, or similar.
In-depth knowledge of audio concepts such as sampling, latency, signal routing, audio formats, and synchronization.
Experience working with embedded systems, mobile OS (Android/iOS), or custom DSPs.
Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals (Linux, Android, RTOS) and system resource management.
Strong debugging and profiling skills (e.g., gdb, strace, perf, Instruments).
