We are seeking a highly skilled Asterisk and Kamailio Administrator with 5+ years of hands-on experience in VoIP systems, SIP routing, real-time communication platforms, and strong Linux server administration expertise. The ideal candidate will manage, optimize, secure, and troubleshoot our telephony infrastructure to ensure high availability, peak performance, and reliability across all voice services.
- Install, configure, and maintain Asterisk PBX, Kamailio SIP Proxy, RTP engines, and related VoIP components.
- Manage dialplans, SIP trunking, codecs, routing rules, and call flow design.
- Develop, update, and optimize Asterisk dialplans and SIP configurations.
- Configure and maintain Kamailio modules, routing logic, authentication, NAT handling, load balancing, and failover.
- Perform SIP tracing and debugging using sngrep, ngrep, tcpdump, Homer/HEP.
- Integrate Asterisk/Kamailio with external systems (databases, APIs, CRM/billing systems).
- Administer and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, Rocky).
- Perform system hardening, security patching, monitoring, log analysis, and OS upgrades.
- Manage MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, Nginx/Apache, systemd, and virtualization environments.
- Ensure high availability and clustering for Asterisk/Kamailio.
- Configure and maintain firewalls (iptables, ufw, nftables) and IPS (fail2ban)
- Monitor VoIP platform health, CPU/memory usage, call quality metrics, and SIP traffic.
- Troubleshoot call failures, latency, jitter, audio issues, NAT problems, and registration failures.
- Perform capacity planning and implement performance tuning.
- Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
- Work with DevOps, Support, and NOC teams for deployments and escalations.
- Provide input for architectural and infrastructure improvements.
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Asterisk and Kamailio in production.
- Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, VoIP protocols, and telephony standards.
- Expert Linux system administration knowledge.
- Experience with MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, and API integrations.
- Proficiency in bash scripting; Python/Perl is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting using SIP analysis tools.
- Experience with Homer/HEP, RTPengine, FreePBX/Issabel, OpenSIPS (optional).
- Knowledge of SBCs, load balancers, HAProxy, or Kamailio clustering.
- Experience with Docker and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix).
- Knowledge of telecom security best practices (TLS, SRTP, fraud prevention).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently under pressure.
