Analyst

to join the DAVO Returns Experience team within our Compliance team. The DAVO team provides tax compliance support for our small business customer base. You will be responsible for monthly filings of state tax returns on behalf of the DAVO client base, will collaborate on filing preparation so that each filing cycle runs efficiently and effectively, and will assist with other projects as necessary. You will also proactively contact merchants to update account information and resolve account status and funding issues. This role will be based in Pune, India and reports to the Manager of our DAVO Tax and Compliance Team.

Job Duties

• Understand the team priorities and work assignment based on delivery requirement.
• Quality of work needs to be very high standards and never miss turnaround on tasks/projects. Maintain Zero escalations.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• On-board customers to Sales & Use tax Returns platform for successfully managing Compliance cycle (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual) based on the jurisdictional requirementCoordinate with Customers to set-up returns for periodic filing
• Follow checklist to perform required validations for the returns’ set-up
• Notify and provide support to the customers of missing or incorrect information and getting it updated to improve customer satisfaction and establish a seamless on-boarding process
• You will utilize DAVO systems to gather information about client tax returns and ensure filing data is correct according to DAVO filing procedures.
• You will ensure sales tax returns are accurately filed with state taxing authority websites.
• You will confirm appropriate remittance of tax return funds with state taxing authorities.
• You will support merchants directly and follow operational policies on when to return sales tax funds to the merchant.
• Ensure completion of the requirements specified in the validation checklist ahead of the filing/locking period prior to Compliance hand-off
• Actively communicate with GoLive, Customer account manager, Compliance teams to resolve Process challenges, bottlenecks and improve Customer satisfaction
• Undertake Projects to streamline the process and drive automation
• Update internal systems including Customer relationship software, internal project management software
• Maintain optimal levels of communication with local team and that of the US counterparts, manager
• You will verify account status to ensure that correct information is provided in order to properly file timely returns.
• You will verify tax rates and ensure that point-of-sale programming is accurate.
• You will support Customer Success Specialists with Tier 2 filing support, answering questions and responding to filing issues.
• You assist with partner support to facilitate accurate and timely filing of returns.
• You will escalate issues to the Returns Experience Team Lead.
• You will maintain a high level of confidentiality with customer data.
  

What You'll Need to be Successful

• You have a Master's degree or equivalent years of experience and between 2-3 years of related professional experience in the filed of Finance or Tax
• Exposure to retail point-of-sale devices, sales tax regulations, sales tax filing requirements and how these requirements apply to small retail businesses is an advantage
• You have experience with using spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets or similar) and writing basic spreadsheet formulas.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Office including MS word, MS Excel & MS Outlook.
• You are able to meet strict filing deadlines.
• Experience with CRM software like Salesforce.
• You have experience handling sensitive customer data with a high level of confidentiality.
• You effectively communicate with internal and external parties verbally and via email, texting, voice calls, and video conference
