Job Description

Role Objective:

To ensure smooth, accurate, and efficient handling of all store operations — including material receipt, storage, issuance, documentation, and system posting — in alignment with company procedures and audit compliance requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Material Receipt & Verification

  • Oversee receipt of raw materials, consumables, spares, and finished goods as per PO and delivery schedule.
  • Ensure GRN (Goods Receipt Note) preparation in SAP/ERP within stipulated timelines.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Purchase teams for inspection and acceptance of received materials.
  • Handle discrepancies and rejections with suppliers in coordination with the Purchase team.

2. Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate stock levels and implement FIFO/FEFO principles.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock audits; investigate variances.
  • Optimize storage space, labeling, and bin management for efficient material retrieval.
  • Monitor non-moving, slow-moving, and scrap materials and report periodically.

3. Issue & Dispatch Control

  • Ensure timely material issue to production as per material requisition slips (MRS).
  • Maintain records of internal transfers and dispatches to other plants or customers.
  • Verify proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for outward materials.

4. System & Documentation

  • Ensure all material transactions are posted accurately in ERP/SAP.
  • Maintain all statutory and process documentation (inward/outward registers, stock reports, etc.).
  • Support finance for GR/IR reconciliations and audit requirements.

5. Team & Compliance

  • Supervise store assistants, forklift operators, and helpers; plan shift schedules.
  • Ensure 5S, safety, and housekeeping standards are consistently followed.
  • Drive adherence to company SOPs, ISO, and internal audit compliances.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of

    inventory control

    ERP systems (SAP/MM module preferred)

  • Understanding of

    GRN, MRN, MRS, and stock reconciliation processes

  • Excellent coordination skills with Purchase, Accounts, and Production teams.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to accuracy and timelines.
  • Leadership ability to manage a small team and multiple priorities effectively.


Qualification:

  • Graduate / Diploma in Engineering / B.Com / BBA
  • Preferred: Post-Graduate Diploma in Materials Management or SAP-MM certification.
