Assistant Project Engineer

Description:

• Responsible for design and maintenance of large-scale experimental set up in high pressure, high temperature environment


• Proactively planning and execution of experiments according to proper guidelines


• Experienced with conducting fluid flow experiments (Pump, Compressor, Mixing, Filtration )


• Perform design and feasibility calculations for test loops


• Co-ordinate with different vendors, subcontractors to supervise the construction of the test facilities


• Prepare PFD, P&ID for the test loops


• Discuss the test objectives with client and evolve an experimental plan/strategy


• Perform experiments as per the guidance of the project owner and producing quality and reliable data


• Record and maintain experimental log sheets and utility data sheets


• Timely reporting of deliverables, maintaining honesty and confidentiality of client data


• Perform experiments using sophisticated measurement techniques such as High-Speed Photography, Ultrasound Velocity Profiles, Wire Mesh Sensor, etc


• Assist in development of instrumentation techniques such as Conductivity Probes, Isokinetic Probes,


• Pro-active troubleshooting of small issues on the


• Keeping track of day-to-day inventory required and raising early flags


• Effectively utilizing monthly loop expenses, stock management to ensure smooth loop running


• Regularly calibrating all instruments on the loop and maintaining a data base


• Communicate and present the updates on the work status


• Follow safety norms while operating/monitoring experimental loop and utilities

Desired Skills:

• Proven project execution and delivery skills


• Good experimental and hands-on laboratory background


• Data analysis, interpretation, report writing, presentation skills


• Expertise in using Microsoft office and equivalent software like image processing, AutoCAD


• Data acquisition systems and Data acquisition software like LabVIEW


• Preferably Conversant with scripts like MATLAB, Python, VB


• Strong communication (verbal and written), attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team comprising post-graduates, contract workers

Education and Experience:

• E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (Diploma background are also eligible) with an understanding of basic machine design, fluid mechanics, heat & mass transfer, experimental capabilities, equipment troubleshooting, instrument operation, computer proficiency, manufacturing (drilling/welding) expertise with 1 to 3 years experience.
