Application Packaging Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Create and maintain application packages using MSI technology, PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT), and related tools.
• Package and deploy applications via SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager).
• Automate and script routine tasks using PowerShell.
• Perform application testing in virtualized environments (e.g., Hyper-V).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application deployment and functionality.
• Document packaging procedures, installation guides, and deployment instructions.
• Coordinate with Service Desk and other support teams via Service Now for incidents, requests, and change management.
• Maintain a repository of packages and ensure version control and compliance with organizational policies.
• Work on migration and upgrade projects, ensuring application compatibility with target environments.

Preferred candidate profile

• 3+ years of experience in application packaging and deployment.
• Strong hands-on expertise with PSADT, MSI/MST creation, and SCCM.
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automation and custom installs.

Experience working with Hyper-V or similar virtualization platforms testing and validation.

• Solid understanding of application troubleshooting techniques and dependency management.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools, particularly Service Now.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems and enterprise desktop environments.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, SCCM-related).
• Experience with Intune or other modern deployment technologies.
• Background in Agile or ITIL environments
• Bachelor Of Degree (B.E/B.Tech in Computers.
