Application Architect Manager

The Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in software development activities and long-term initiative planning and collaboration across the Strategy & Transformation (S&T) organization. Software Engineering is the cornerstone of scalable digital transformation across PepsiCo's value chain. You will establish an end-to-end vision of the overall application design and provide technology leadership to the application architecture in terms of focus, technical direction, and breadth of coverage of relevant technologies. You will demonstrate a passion for excellence in engineering services, education, and support. It is essential to exhibit strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate a complex, matrixed environment. Collaboration with regional and global partners across various functional units is a key aspect of this role. You will be required to influence and lead senior stakeholders across cultures and organizational boundaries. Qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Masters or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred. You should have a minimum of 11 years of software development and engineering leadership experience, along with at least 5 years of experience architecting fault-tolerant, large-scale distributed systems. In-depth knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design is crucial. Proficiency in multiple programming languages beyond C#, Java, C, or C++ (for example, Ruby, Python, or Perl) is expected. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, and related PaaS/SaaS solutions is necessary. A proven track record of working on mission-critical, 24/7 systems and experience in building and maintaining high-throughput, cloud-native distributed systems are essential. Expertise in designing and consuming large-scale web services, a strong understanding of design patterns, and experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and frontend frameworks (e.g., React-Redux) are required. Full-stack engineering experience is preferred, demonstrating comfort across both frontend and backend development.,
