Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced API Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in building and executing automation frameworks for API and web applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Java, Selenium, and REST API automation, along with solid understanding of QA methodologies and Agile practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for

  REST API

  and web application testing.
• Create and execute automated test scripts using

  Java

  ,

  Selenium

  , and API automation tools/libraries (e.g., RestAssured).
• Understand API specifications, validate request/response structures, and perform functional, regression, and integration testing.
  
• Work closely with development, product, and QA teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  
• Identify, analyze, and document defects; collaborate with engineering teams for timely fixes.
  
• Integrate automation test suites with

  CI/CD pipelines

  (Jenkins or similar).
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to process improvements.
  
• Produce clear test documentation including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in test automation with a strong focus on

  API automation

  .
• Strong programming skills in

  Java

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  Selenium WebDriver

  for UI automation.
• Expertise in

  REST API testing

  using tools/libraries like

  RestAssured

  , Postman, or similar.
• Experience in building data-driven and hybrid automation frameworks.
  
• Good understanding of JSON, XML, HTTP methods, status codes, authentication mechanisms, etc.
  
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, etc.
  
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
  
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities.
  

Nice-to-Have

• Knowledge of microservices testing.
  
• Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber).
  
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
