Analytics Consultant- Global Payments and Liquidity

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Analytics Consultant

In this role, you will:

• Consult with business line and enterprise functions on less complex research
• Use functional knowledge to assist in non-model quantitative tools that support strategic decision making
• Perform analysis of findings and trends using statistical analysis and document process
• Present recommendations to increase revenue, reduce expense, maximize operational efficiency, quality, and compliance
• Identify and define business requirements and translate data and business needs into research and recommendations to improve efficiency
• Participate in all group technology efforts including design and implementation of database structures, analytics software, storage, and processing
• Develop customized reports and ad hoc analyses to make recommendations and provide guidance to less experienced staff
• Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported area
• Ensure adherence to data management or data governance regulations and policies
• Participate in company initiatives or processes to assist in meeting risk and capital objectives and other strategic goals
• Collaborate and consult with more experienced consultants and with partners in technology and other business groups

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• Degree in quantitative fields such as applied math, Accounting, engineering, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis
• 2+ years of experience in an environment that utilizes large relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, & Teradata
• 2+ years of experience developing complex SQL quires and other coding environments
• 2+ years of experience developing Alteryx solutions, Power BI, Tableau reports & other structured visualization solutions and automation tools.
• Experience in Maintaining & creating efficient data solutions in order to support the Insights & reporting
• Good to have - Experience in Treasury Management Products or Commercial Banking
• Partner Management experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Job Expectations:

• As an SME, the primary responsibility of this role is for supporting various Strategy initiatives, product consulting analysis and inputs for proposals. Duties typically include providing deep insights on payment analytical reports, support for developing client solutions on a wide array of business initiatives including Industry initiatives.
• Support the execution of all GPL Banks business initiatives, assists in data sources and involve in complex analytical work or exploratory data analysis.
• Participate in client meetings to provide specialized product & consultancy support on payment trending.
• Working on multiple data sources, compiles/mines data for developing payment analytics and interpret results into insights thereby assisting in meaningful client discussions. Data involved may be very large, structured or unstructured and from multiple sources.
• Responsible for providing Payment analytical reports & preparing Dashboards and Data analytical reports.
• Responsible for deep-dive analysis on client payments which outline payment activity trends and new business opportunities and assisting in construction of client solutions using existing data analytical tools and methodology.
• Coordinates client feedback and provides to Management. As a subject matter expert, provide training and guidance to less experienced team members including ownership of deliverables.
• Develop and refine business intelligence and data visualizations using Power BI.
• Perform strategic adhoc data analyses to support key business decisions
• Sourcing data from across multiple systems using a variety of database reporting applications (ORACLE, Teradata, SQL)
• Provide support/generate and distribute existing management information systems (MIS) reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintain reference data that supports the entire insights & reporting processes.
• Support to automate reports by identifying the opportunities on existing process and reports.
• Perform data analysis for generating reports on a periodic basis.
• Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization.
• Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets.
• Provide strong and timely financial and business analytic decision support to business partners and stakeholders.
• Provide feedback and present ideas for improving or implementing processes and tools within the Analytics group
• Monitoring/quantifying success of business opportunities, sales campaigns and initiatives, and tracking progress towards revenue and profitability goals and targets.
• Responsible for maintaining partnerships, ensuring high quality team deliveries and SLAs.
• Designing and solving complexbusiness problems by using analytical techniques and tools.
• Works with large data sets, both structured and unstructured, and from multiple sources.
• Will be involved directly in the technical build-out and/or support of databases, query tools, reporting tools, BI tools, dashboards, etc. that enable analysis, data visualization and/or advance analytics.
• This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking and strategic decision making to drive impactful insights.
