DESRI (formerly D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments) is a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. We have acquired or developed approximately 11 gigawatts of contracted capacity across a portfolio of over 70 renewable energy projects in 24 states.

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong and solutions-driven AI Automation Solutions Engineer to join our India office of DESRI, i.e., DESRI India Private Limited, based in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be a part of Technology Information Services team and will regularly interact with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties. The candidate will be a part of an inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI s portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects within a dynamic environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.

What youll do

• Collaborate across functions to apply AI/ML solutions that enhance efficiency and drive value across key business areas.
• Develop and deploy automation workflows using tools such as Python, Zapier, ChatGPT, and other full stack development architecture.
• Assist in evaluating, testing, and documenting new AI/ML tools and technologies for potential adoption within the organization.
• Participate in team stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews to align on project goals and ensure delivery quality.
• Prepare and present project updates and deliverables to senior stakeholders.
• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned projects, from scoping to execution and delivery.

Qualifications

• A BE/Btech or ME/MTech in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, with 2 4 years of hands-on experience.
• Preferred candidates will have hands-on experience with automation tools like

  Zapier

  and implementing

  Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions

• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining full-stack web applications including UI, APIs, DevOps, and databases will be an added advantage.
• Strong foundation in AI/ML concepts, Python, databases, and web development (React, APIs).
• The candidate must have excellent analytical abilities, impressive communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• The candidate must have the ability to collaborate with teams located in different time zones and jurisdictions.
