Advisory Consultant Engineer (APC)

In this role at AspenTech, you will be a part of a team that is passionate about pushing the envelope and finding innovative solutions in the process industries. As a qualified engineer based in Pune, India, your responsibilities will include: - Reviewing process flow diagrams and P&IDs, understanding process operations, and leading process discussions for effective knowledge transfer to junior engineers. - Designing, testing, and commissioning APC applications independently, leading a team of engineers through all project phases. - Providing advisory supervision to multiple project teams executing APC projects and designing control strategies for multivariable control systems. - Implementing database or schematic changes, executing controller simulations, and acting as a technical lead engineer on various scale projects. - Collaborating with Project Managers to identify scope changes, estimate project efforts, and ensure timely completion. - Understanding closed-loop control concepts and assisting in controller interface database and configuration. To qualify for this position, you will need: - A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (MS or PhD preferred). - 15+ years of experience in Multivariable Process Control and Optimization. - Strong communication and coaching skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to customers and colleagues. - Competence in Refining, Olefins, Polymer processes with additional experience in Spec Chem or Pulp and Paper. - Proficiency in data collection, manipulation, transformation, and multivariable identification. - Deep knowledge of multivariable control, linear programming, and closed-loop control concepts. - Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time for testing and commissioning activities at client sites. - Fluency in English required, proficiency in Aspen tools and exposure to AspenTech APC products will be advantageous. - Fluency in any other language will be a plus.
