2G Protocol Development Engineer

As a Protocol Development Engineer at Capgemini in Bangalore, Karnataka, you will be a valuable member of the wireless R&D team. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain 2G protocol stack components for GSM systems. You should possess strong C programming skills and a deep understanding of 2G protocols and Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain 2G protocol stack modules such as Layer 2/3. - Implement features and enhancements in GSM MAC, RLC, RRC, and RR layers. - Collaborate closely with system architects and test teams to ensure protocol compliance and performance. - Debug and resolve issues by utilizing trace logs and protocol analyzers. - Contribute to system integration and validation of 2G RAN components. Qualifications Required: - Strong proficiency in C programming within embedded or telecom environments. - Good understanding of 2G/GSM protocol architecture and RAN interfaces. - Familiarity with Layer 2/3 protocols including MAC, RLC, RRC, RR. - Experience with RTOS/Linux, GDB, and version control systems like Git. - Ability to analyze and debug protocol logs and traces.
