A Traffic Manager in a transport company is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of a
specific branch, including managing customer relationships, coordinating vehicle dispatch, ensuring
timely deliveries and driving business development within their designated area, while adhering to
company policies and regulations to optimize efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development: Actively seek new customers and maintain existing client relationships to increasemarket share and revenue. Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to secure profitable business. Identify potential business opportunities within the assigned territory. Operations Management: Manage daily dispatch operations, assigning vehicles and drivers to deliveries based onroute optimization and customer requirements. Monitor delivery schedules and ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries. Track shipment status and address any operational issues or delays promptly. Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests efficiently. Resolve customer issues related to deliveries, billing, and service quality. Build strong customer relationships and promote excellent customer service standards. Financial Management: Monitor branch revenue and expenditure to ensure profitability. Analyze operational costs and identify areas for cost reduction. Prepare budget reports and track financial performance against targets. Compliance and Regulatory: Ensure adherence to all relevant transportation regulations, including safety standardsand licensing requirements.
Stay updated on industry changes and compliance guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in the transportation industry, preferably in a supervisory role Strong understanding of logistics operations, route planning, and vehicle dispatching Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage customer interactions and buildrelationships Leadership abilities to motivate and manage a team of drivers and operational staff Proficiency in transportation management systems and software Analytical skills to identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements Commercial acumen to negotiate contracts and manage pricing strategies Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
