Varuna Marine Services BV is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Maritime Emissions Officer to join the team. You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on emissions from our fleet, with specific knowledge related to IMO DCS, CII, EUETS, and FuelEU maritime preferred. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing and implementing strategies to reduce emissions and enhance the sustainability of our operations. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, you will integrate the latest emission control technologies into our vessels. Regular assessments and audits of our vessels will be conducted by you to identify areas for improvement in emission control and sustainability practices. It is essential to stay informed about the latest environmental policies, industry standards, and technological advancements related to maritime emissions management. To qualify for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or a related field. Sailing experience is considered advantageous. Proven experience in emissions management within the maritime industry is required, along with a strong understanding of international maritime emissions regulations and standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
