As a Senior Textile Designer specializing in home furnishings, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of various textile products like cushions, throws, bed linens, table linens, and curtains. Your role will involve creating innovative embroidery-based surface designs using techniques such as machine, hand, and applique. It is essential to have a keen understanding of US buyer preferences, particularly companies like TJ Maxx, to cater to their design sensibilities, quality standards, and market trends. Your key responsibilities will include interpreting buyer mood boards and trends to curate seasonal collections tailored for US retail clients. You will collaborate with merchandisers and sampling teams to ensure that design execution meets quality and cost parameters. Additionally, you will conduct research on international home decor trends, color forecasts, and textile innovations to stay updated with the industry's latest developments. To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the home furnishing export industry, specifically focusing on the US markets. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD, and hand sketching is required. Prior experience working with accounts like TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Target, or similar US retail buyers will be advantageous. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for effectively collaborating with buyers and internal teams.
