Position Title: Safety Engineer
Department: Projects
Position Overview:
The Safety Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols
for electrical industrial projects, including electrical panel manufacturing, site erection, and house wiring works.
The role involves conducting safety assessments, enforcing standards, and ensuring that all operations adhere to statutory
regulations and organizational safety policies. The engineer will play a vital role in preventing incidents and promoting
a safe working environment across all electrical project sites.
Key Responsibilities:· Develop and implement HSE plans, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols for electrical project sites.
· Perform hazard identification, risk assessment (HIRA), job safety analysis (JSA), and ensure control measures are in place.
· Ensure compliance with national electrical safety regulations (IS codes, Indian Electricity Rules, etc.) and ISO 45001.
· Conduct daily safety inspections at panel manufacturing units, construction sites, and house wiring locations.
· Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
· Deliver safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and induction programs for workers and subcontractors.
· Oversee the use and condition of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure proper usage.
· Manage Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for electrical energization, live works, confined space entry, and working at height.
· Coordinate with design, execution, and QA/QC teams to resolve safety-related issues.
· Maintain and update all safety documentation, including inspection reports, training records, and audit checklists.
· Monitor electrical lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and fire safety measures for panel installations.
· Conduct mock drills and emergency preparedness exercises at regular intervals.
Qualifications & Experience:· Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
· Government-recognized Diploma/Certification in Industrial Safety / Fire & Safety.
· Certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA (preferred).
· 3–8 years of experience in HSE roles within electrical projects, panel manufacturing, or building services.
· Familiarity with IS 3043, IS 732, National Building Code, and relevant electrical safety norms.
· Proficiency in HIRA, JSA, LOTO, confined space safety, and work-at-height procedures.
· Experience in working with ISO 45001 and EMS 14001 systems.

· Incident investigation and root cause analysis capabilities.
· Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management tools.
· Ability to enforce safety protocols across diverse electrical project settings.
