Proposal Engineer

Job Title: Proposal and Design Engineer – Waste Water Treatment Job Summary: The Proposal and Design Engineer is responsible for the development of technical proposals, design documents, and cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment projects. This role supports the sales team by preparing competitive and technically sound bids while also contributing to the conceptual and detailed design of water treatment systems. Key Responsibilities: Proposal Development: • Analyze RFQs, and tender documents to determine client requirements and project scope. • Prepare technical proposals including process descriptions, equipment lists, and system layouts. • Work with sales, procurement, and engineering teams to develop cost estimates and pricing. • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for quotations and technical inputs. • Ensure proposals meet both customer requirements and internal quality standards. • Manage submission deadlines and maintain organized documentation. Design and Engineering: • Prepare technical documentation including design basis, datasheets, and BOMs (Bill of Materials). Cross-functional Collaboration: • .Participate in technical reviews Requirements: Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Experience: • 3–8 years of experience in the wastewater industry, with exposure to design and proposals. • Familiarity with technologies such as RO, UF, MBR, DAF, chemical dosing, and biological treatment systems. Skills: • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and process simulation tools. • Strong understanding of water chemistry and process engineering principles. • Excellent technical writing and communication skills. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple proposals simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with international projects or public sector tenders. • Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, API, AWWA). • PMP or similar certification is a plus.
