Projects - Inspection Engineer
The Projects - Inspection Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of engineering projects through detailed inspection and monitoring of materials, equipment, and processes. The role involves overseeing inspection activities during project execution, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications. The Inspection Engineer will play a key role in identifying defects, ensuring timely corrective actions, and verifying that completed projects meet the required standards of quality and safety.
- Conduct
inspections of materials, equipment, and processes
during various stages of project execution to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications for Project Inspection & Quality Assurance
. - Review and interpret
project drawings, specifications, and contracts
to ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards. - Develop and implement
inspection plans, procedures, and checklists
for each phase of the project. - Perform
on-site inspections
, ensuring proper installation and functionality of systems, structures, and components. - Ensure that project deliverables meet the quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all
inspections comply with industry standards
such as ASME, API, ISO, or relevant local regulations for Compliance & Standards Monitoring
. - Verify that all materials and equipment used in projects are compliant with regulatory and client standards.
- Oversee the
proper documentation of all inspections, tests, and quality assurance measures
, ensuring that all records are complete and accurate. - Stay up-to-date with the latest codes, standards, and industry best practices to ensure project compliance.
- Witness and participate in
testing activities
, including non-destructive testing (NDT), pressure tests, material tests, and performance checks for Testing & Certification
. - Ensure
proper certification and documentation
for all inspection activities, including welding, fabrication, and equipment installation. - Coordinate
third-party inspections and certifications
when required, ensuring that external inspectors meet company and project requirements. - Identify any
defects or non-conformance issues
and recommend corrective actions to the project team. - Prepare
detailed inspection reports
, documenting findings, deviations, and recommendations for corrective actions for Reporting & Documentation
. - Maintain
accurate and up-to-date records
of inspections, quality assurance activities, and testing results. - Report
project inspection status
to the project management team, providing updates on quality performance, compliance, and any potential risks. - Assist in preparing the
final project documentation package
, including certificates, inspection records, and compliance reports. - Work closely with the
project management, engineering, and procurement teams
to ensure timely inspections and approvals for Collaboration & Coordination
. - Coordinate with
contractors, vendors, and suppliers
to ensure quality and compliance during project execution. - Provide
technical guidance and support
to construction teams on inspection and quality control procedures. - Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders regarding inspection results and project compliance.
- Ensure that all inspections are conducted in accordance with the company's
health, safety, and environmental policies
for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
. - Identify
potential risks or hazards
during inspections and take appropriate actions to mitigate them. - Participate in
safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering
, or a related field.5+ years of experience in inspection or quality assurance
, preferably in the construction, oil & gas, or industrial sectors
.Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards
such as ASME, API, ISO, and local building codes.Proven experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, welding inspections, and material inspections
.Familiarity with project management processes and tools
.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
.Proficiency in inspection software and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as an ASNT Level II Inspector, API Inspector
, or equivalent.Experience working on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects
.Knowledge of project management software
(e.g., Primavera, MS Project).Experience with safety and environmental regulations
