✅ Senior QA Engineer (SQE) 📍 Experience Range: 4–6 years 🧑‍💼 Reports To: Lead QA Engineer / QA Manager / CTO 🔍 Role Overview: As a Senior QA Engineer, you are expected to take end-to-end ownership of the QA lifecycle for your assigned modules or projects. This includes test planning, execution, automation, defect management, and continuous process improvement. You'll play a key role in ensuring product stability, identifying risk areas early, and mentoring junior QA engineers in best practices. 🔑 Key Responsibilities:📋 Test Planning & Execution Translate product requirements and user stories into detailed and executable test cases (manual + automated). Own the full testing lifecycle for your modules — from test design to test execution across functional, integration, and regression testing. Identify edge cases, maintain traceability with acceptance criteria, and ensure 95%+ test case execution rate. 🤖 Automation Development & CI/CD Integration Build, maintain, and optimize automation test scripts using Selenium, Cypress, and Postman. Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous regression coverage. Drive automation reliability to >90% by proactively identifying and resolving flaky tests or environment issues. 🐞 Defect Tracking & Root Cause Analysis Log high-quality, reproducible bugs with detailed steps, screenshots, and logs using tools like JIRA. Lead defect triage meetings to ensure critical issues are prioritized correctly and resolved swiftly. Work closely with developers to debug complex issues and minimize defect leakage. 📈 Quality Visibility & Documentation Maintain clear and concise QA reports including test coverage, bug trends, and release readiness. Own QA sign-off for features/releases and contribute to documentation like QA SOPs, reusable test cases, and guidelines. Keep the QA Wiki updated for cross-functional visibility and knowledge sharing. 👥 Mentoring & Process Improvement Support onboarding and skill development of Junior QAs (QE, AQE) by reviewing test cases, sharing tools, and resolving blockers. Recommend tools, plugins, or frameworks to improve speed, accuracy, and maintainability of testing. Participate in retrospectives and suggest actionable process enhancements. 🎯 Ideal Candidate Traits: Strong experience in automated and manual testing, with a deep understanding of STLC and agile workflows. Experience integrating QA with CI/CD in fast-paced product environments. Detail-oriented mindset with a knack for catching edge-case bugs early. Collaborative communicator — works seamlessly with developers, PMs, and QAs. Self-driven and able to mentor junior engineers without supervision.
