Operational Buyer

The opportunity: You will have the opportunity to support the CH2106 GIS Supply Chain team by executing supply chain management activities in a timely and proactive manner. This will ensure the fulfillment of customer expectations and contribute to the unit's overall profitability and operational efficiency. How you'll make an impact: You will be responsible for processing purchase requisitions and converting them into purchase orders (POs) following company policies and procedures. Ensuring the timely placement of POs to meet operational and project requirements will be a key aspect of your role. You will communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery timelines, and work on the exception messages from SAP. Monitoring supplier performance and escalating issues as needed will be crucial. Tracking order status and ensuring the on-time delivery of goods and services will also be part of your responsibilities. You will need to coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for the smooth receipt of materials. Resolving quality notifications assigned by the IQC team in a timely manner is another important task. Collaborating closely with internal departments such as Planning, Engineering, Finance, and Quality to align procurement activities with business needs will be essential. Supporting cross-functional initiatives to enhance the P2P process, identifying opportunities for process optimization and cost savings, and participating in initiatives to improve procurement efficiency and supplier collaboration will also be part of your role. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines while embodying Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions and caring for your colleagues and the business. Your background: You should have excellent skills in speaking, reading, and writing English. A graduate in Engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Procurement function or as a Buyer is required. Familiarity with working with SAP MM Module (Creating PR, PO, etc.) is essential. Strong leadership and negotiation skills to convince vendors and stakeholders will be beneficial. The ability to work under pressure to deliver bought-out items on time, within cost and quality is necessary.
