Manager, Data Platform Engineering

As the Manager, Data Platform Engineering at Assent, you will play a crucial role in leading and coaching a team of data platform engineers. Your primary responsibility will be to keep your team organized, motivated, and engaged in delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions that address key business challenges. By recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-performing team, you will ensure that Assent's products meet the needs of its customers and align with the company's business objectives. Your role will involve coordinating and allocating work among the team members, driving delivery, and championing product quality. You will collaborate closely with other teams in the product value chain such as Product Management, User Experience, Quality Assurance, Customer Success, and Infrastructure. Additionally, you will visualize upcoming work, manage product releases, and ensure that the software developed follows Assent's guidelines and standards. To excel in this role, you should have at least 10 years of progressive experience in a data-focused role, with a proven track record in a leadership position. Strong mentoring and coaching skills are essential to keep your team engaged and motivated. A solid technical background, familiarity with AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python, SQL, Kafka, and experience in working with large volumes of unstructured data are also required. As a strategic and business-minded individual, you should possess strong analytical skills and be able to manage short-term projects as well as long-term strategies effectively.
