Job Description

The Maintenance Fitter is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role involves diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring all equipment complies with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in mechanical systems, identifying the root causes of breakdowns.
  • Replace defective components, lubricate parts, and make necessary adjustments to equipment.
  • Installation and Commissioning
  • Install and assemble machinery and mechanical systems according to technical specifications.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning to ensure proper functioning.
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Monitor machinery performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and lifespan.
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts replacements.
  • Report recurring issues and suggest improvements to minimize future breakdowns.
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or parts procurement.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diploma in Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Trade certification in fitting and mechanical maintenance (if applicable).
  • Experience
  • [X years] of experience in maintenance fitting, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of welding, fabrication, and machining (preferred).
  • Competencies
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.

Work Conditions:

  • Regularly works in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Requires physical activity such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • May involve exposure to loud noises, heat, or hazardous materials; appropriate safety measures are required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,086.00 - ₹20,069.55 per month
