Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement mainframe-based applications.
  • Write and maintain high-quality COBOL, JCL, and DB2 code.
  • Perform unit and integration testing to ensure software meets business requirements.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, or improve its performance.
  • Participate in system analysis and design for new and existing applications.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Provide production support and resolve system issues in a timely manner.
  • Document code changes, specifications, and processes.
  • Assist in mainframe modernization and integration efforts with distributed systems.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer (3+ years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
  • Experience with VSAM, IMS, and TSO/ISPF.
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Endevor, Changeman, or similar.
  • Knowledge of job scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
