• You cannot communicate fluently in English (C1 level or higher)

What Were Looking For

We are hiring a Principal Java Developer to lead feature development for a UK-based SaaS platform serving 1,000+ global sports and membership organisations. You will join a high-calibre engineering team, working directly with UK product leads to build scalable, secure backend services with real impact.

Key Skills Required

• Java 21 (minimum Java 17) with in-depth JVM knowledge
• Spring Boot 3.x, Hibernate, Spring Security
• PostgreSQL schema design, query optimisation
• Docker containerisation and deployment
• RESTful APIs secure, documented, and versioned
• Strong command of unit testing frameworks JUnit, Mockito
• Experience with CI/CD tools, Maven, and static code analysis
• Familiarity with MongoDB, JWT, and API integrations

• You write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
• You've led backend features end-to-end, not just executed tickets
• You proactively mentor others and contribute to team learning
