Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Junior QA/QC Engineer in the shipbuilding industry, you will assist in the implementation and monitoring of quality standards throughout the ship construction process. You will work under the supervision of Manager to ensure that all materials, components, and processes comply with project specifications, class requirements, and international standards (e.g., ISO, IACS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of materials, components, welds, and assembled sections of vessels to ensure compliance with design specifications and classification standards.
  • Support Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and interpret NDT reports under supervision.
  • Record and report non-conformities and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action follow-ups.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of materials, welding processes, and testing reports.
  • Coordinate with production, planning, and procurement departments to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the build process.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, including those conducted by classification societies or clients.
  • Assist in preparing final quality dossiers and documentation for project handover.

Required Qualifications:

Ship Building Experience Mandatory.

  • Diploma in Mechanical / Marine / Naval Architecture / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in QA/QC or shipbuilding projects.
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW), NDT methods, and shipbuilding standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV, BV).
  • Proficient in MS Office and quality documentation tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
