IoT Hardware QA Engineer

About the Role:

IoT Hardware QA Engineer


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for IoT hardware and embedded systems.
  • Perform functional, regression, performance, and environmental testing of hardware components.
  • Validate firmware and hardware integration with mobile and cloud applications.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to define quality standards and resolve issues.
  • Conduct hardware validation in lab setups, including sensor calibration, connectivity (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRa, etc.), and power consumption testing.
  • Analyze hardware failures and work closely with engineering teams to identify root causes.
  • Document test results, create bug reports, and track issues through resolution.
  • Continuously improve QA processes and contribute to automation efforts where possible.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in hardware quality assurance, preferably within an IoT environment.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems, PCB testing, and digital/analog hardware debugging.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Experience with connectivity protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of firmware testing, and ability to read and understand schematics and datasheets.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
