Distribution Manager

Job Summary:The Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. They manage the day-to-day operations of distribution centers or warehouses, ensuring products are delivered to the right location on time, in the proper condition, and at the most efficient cost. Key Responsibilities:Plan and coordinate distribution operations to ensure efficient inventory flow from origin to final destination. Manage warehouse staff and drivers, including scheduling, performance reviews, and training. Monitor and control inventory levels; conduct regular audits to maintain accuracy. Oversee order fulfillment, shipping, and delivery processes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Develop and implement logistics strategies that reduce costs and improve service. Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, and environmental standards. Use logistics IT systems or software to optimize procedures. Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and customers to ensure smooth distribution operations. Analyze data and generate reports on warehouse performance, delivery efficiency, and logistics costs. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in warehousing and distribution processes. Required Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in logistics, warehousing, or distribution management. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
