Job Description

As a Customer Service Manager at Goodwill, you will play a crucial role in maximizing collections, production, sales, salvage, and customer service by assisting the Store Manager in front-end operations. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring excellent customer service, maximizing sales performance, supervising sales associates and cashiers, overseeing new goods inventory, and maintaining a safe and secure work environment. To excel in this role, you must lead by example in providing quality customer service to all customers, donors, and employees. You will be responsible for training and evaluating sales associates and cashiers, conducting interviews for entry-level retail positions, and ensuring compliance with merchandising guidelines and safety procedures. Additionally, you will contribute to associate evaluations, assist in administering daily order fulfillments, and provide feedback on IT system updates. Your role will also involve handling cash register procedures, enforcing security protocols, and reporting any asset protection matters accurately and in a timely manner. You will be expected to maintain cleanliness in the store and surrounding premises, as well as ensure that safety hazards are promptly addressed. Moreover, you may be required to travel or work at different Goodwill locations based on operational needs. The ideal candidate for this position should have a minimum of one year of retail supervisory experience, high school or GED completion, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software, particularly Word and Excel. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with adaptability, integrity, and business ethics. Bilingual proficiency is a plus. You should also be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds, perform repetitive tasks at a steady pace, and demonstrate physical agility in a retail environment that may include exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, and humidity.
