Job Description

Role & responsibilities

sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for technical and non-technical roles within the steel sector, as well as managing the recruitment process and maintaining a candidate pipeline

  • Sourcing and Recruitment:

    • Utilizing various channels like job portals, networking, referrals, and local sources to identify potential candidates.
    • Screening resumes and conducting initial interviews to assess candidate qualifications.
    • Coordinating with hiring managers and scheduling interviews.
    • Maintaining a database of qualified candidates for different functional areas within the steel industry.
  • Understanding the Steel Industry:

    • Familiarity with roles in steel plant operations, including areas like rolling mills, blast furnaces, and maintenance.
    • Knowledge of technical and non-technical positions within the steel sector.
    • Awareness of market trends and wage levels for various roles in the steel industry.
  • Candidate Management and Communication:

    • Managing communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
    • Providing feedback to candidates and ensuring a positive experience.
    • Collaborating with HR and operations teams to understand manpower requirements and align recruitment strategies.
  • Process Improvement and Compliance:

    • Tracking recruitment metrics to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
    • Contributing to the development of recruitment strategies and workforce planning.
  • Building Relationships:

    • Establishing and maintaining relationships with potential candidates, recruitment agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Collaborating with hiring managers to understand their specific needs and ensure successful placements.
  • Digital Recruitment:

    • Leveraging digital tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and social media for proactive sourcing.
    • Utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment analytics.
    • Implementing AI-driven screening tools and pre-hire assessments.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in recruitment, preferably within the steel sector.
  • Strong understanding of roles and requirements within steel plant operations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with recruitment tools and local job portals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a sales-oriented HR role is a plus, as is experience in EPC, mechanical erection, shutdown, or maintenance projects.
  • A strong field network and connections with professionals in various steel industry circles are also beneficia
