Assistant Manager - Mold Design & Development

You are Milton's ideal candidate for the position of Assistant Manager - Mould Design & Development - Appliances based in Mumbai. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the molding process, leading mold trials, validation, and commissioning for home appliance products. Your main tasks will include attending all mold trials to identify functional and operational challenges, validating each mold before handover to the production team, and leading mold commissioning at the plant level. You will also be expected to prepare and share process data and related documents with the respective plants, drive the engineering aspects of New Product Development (NPD) from concept to final production, and coordinate with mold design teams to ensure feasibility and technical alignment. As the Assistant Manager, you will need to lead multiple NPD projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion within defined timelines. You will be responsible for tracking progress, managing risks, and proactively resolving project issues. Additionally, you will collaborate with mold design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth execution, coordinate with Quality Assurance to meet safety and quality standards, and engage with the B.O.M. team at project initiation for cost evaluation. Ensuring product compliance with industry safety standards and regulatory norms, supervising product testing and validation to confirm performance and safety will also be part of your responsibilities. You will need to explore new materials, technologies, and engineering processes, identifying opportunities to improve mold designs and development procedures. To excel in this role, you should have hands-on experience in operating injection molding machines, be proficient in mold flow analysis interpretation and issue resolution, and have the ability to estimate cycle time, molding machine tonnage, and more. Experience in DFM studies for part and tool feasibility, knowledge of material properties relevant to injection molding, and strong stakeholder management and communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in mold development and process engineering. Experience in leading mold trials and establishing molding processes for home appliance products, as well as coordinating with mold makers in Delhi and co-makers in Baddi/Haridwar for validation and commissioning, will be advantageous.,
