Account Executive (Accounting)

Job Summary: The Accounts Executive is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring timely reporting, and assisting in statutory compliance. The role demands strong attention to detail, familiarity with accounting software, and knowledge of dealership operations and Maruti Suzuki guidelines. Key Responsibilities:1. Accounting & BookkeepingRecord all financial transactions in the accounting system (Tally or DMS). Handle daily cash, bank entries, and journal vouchers. Maintain ledgers, reconciliations, and petty cash registers. Monitor customer and vendor accounts for timely payments and receipts. 2. Invoicing & BillingPrepare customer invoices, credit notes, and debit notes. Verify sales invoices, including vehicle, spares, accessories, and workshop billing. Ensure accurate billing in compliance with GST and other applicable laws. 3. Bank & Cash ManagementHandle cash receipts and deposits. Perform daily bank reconciliations. Prepare and manage cheques, NEFT/RTGS transactions, and online payments. 4. Statutory ComplianceAssist with timely filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B), TDS, and other statutory obligations. Maintain records for audits and ensure compliance with Maruti Suzuki and government norms. Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and internal audit teams. 5. Reporting & MISPrepare daily/weekly/monthly reports (e.g., cash flow, receivables, payables, sales summaries). Submit financial reports as per MSIL and dealership management requirements. Highlight discrepancies or unusual entries to the senior accounts team. Key Skills & Competencies:Proficiency in Tally ERP, MS Excel, and DMS (Dealer Management System) Knowledge of GST, TDS, and basic accounting principles Strong analytical and numerical skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Good organizational and time management skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Educational Qualification:Minimum: B.Com or M.Com Preferred: CA Inter, CMA Inter, or certification in financial accounting Experience:1–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the automobile or retail sector Freshers with strong accounting knowledge and internship experience may be considered Working Conditions:Office-based role at a Maruti Suzuki dealership May involve extended hours during month-end/year-end closing or audits
