ABAP Consultant (5+ years) S/4HANA Upgrade Specialist

You are an experienced ABAP Consultant with over 5 years of experience, specializing in S/4HANA upgrade projects. Your primary focus will be on upgrading from S/4HANA 1709/1809 to S/4HANA 2023/2024. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and enhancing ABAP programs to ensure successful upgrade projects. You will lead ABAP development and support activities for S/4HANA upgrade projects, analyzing, designing, and implementing custom ABAP developments and enhancements required for upgrades. You will also support pre- and post-upgrade tasks, provide technical guidance on upgrading ABAP programs, perform testing, collaborate with functional teams, and ensure adherence to SAP best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Lead ABAP development and support activities for S/4HANA upgrade projects from 1709/1809 to 2023/2024 versions. - Analyze, design, and implement custom ABAP developments and enhancements required for S/4HANA upgrades. - Support pre- and post-upgrade tasks, including code remediation, custom object adjustments, and performance tuning. - Provide technical guidance on upgrading ABAP programs to ensure compatibility with new S/4HANA releases. - Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system validation for ABAP developments related to upgrade projects. - Collaborate with functional teams to ensure the smooth transition of business processes during upgrades. - Monitor and resolve performance issues, including optimizing existing ABAP code to improve system efficiency. - Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of upgrade processes and custom developments. - Ensure adherence to SAP best practices during the upgrade process and ABAP development lifecycle. - Stay updated with the latest S/4HANA technology advancements and share knowledge with the team. Key Skills & Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development. - Proven expertise in S/4HANA upgrades, especially from S/4HANA 1709/1809 to S/4HANA 2023/2024. - Strong knowledge of ABAP programming, including Object-Oriented ABAP, Reports, BDC, BAPI, Enhancements, and Interfaces. - Experience with code optimization, performance tuning, and custom code adaptations during upgrades. - Understanding of SAP Fiori/UI5 development is a plus. - Experience with CDS views, OData services, and SAP Gateway in an S/4HANA environment. - Familiarity with SAP transport management, version control, and change request management. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with functional teams and stakeholders. - Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities to address complex technical challenges. Preferred Qualifications: - SAP Certification in ABAP for S/4HANA is an advantage. - Experience with SAP Activate methodology for S/4HANA implementations and upgrades. - Knowledge of S/4HANA Cloud solutions and integration with on-premise systems.,
