Job Description

Responsibility of test lead is to effectively lead a team of testers to meet the project goals and thereby achieving the organization goals that are derived.

 


Roles and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead and mentor a team of automation testers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of automation tests. Develop and implement automation testing strategies and best practices.
  • Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for various applications, including web, desktop, and mobile platforms.
  • Test Planning & Execution: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and create detailed test plans. Execute automated tests and analyse results to identify defects and areas for improvement.
  • Integration & Maintenance: Integrate automated tests into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure timely feedback and prompt issue resolution. Maintain and update test scripts to accommodate changes in application functionality.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure thorough testing of software applications. Validate that automation coverage meets the project’s needs and quality standards.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Provide regular reports on test progress, results, and defect status. Document test cases, procedures, and automation framework updates.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with development teams, product managers, client and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on testing objectives and timelines.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on automation
  • Experience with other test automation tools such as Selenium, TestComplete, or Appium, Rest API
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD practices
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring teams of testers. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate test strategies, results, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
