The SQL Server & SQL DBA position involves being responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems to ensure the availability and consistent performance of corporate applications. This role requires solid technical skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. As the SQL Server & SQL DBA, you will play a key role in developing and sustaining the SQL Server Warehouse, ensuring its operational readiness, executing data loads, and performing data modeling to support multiple development teams. The data warehouse supports an enterprise application suite of program management tools, and you will need to work independently and collaboratively across various products. Key responsibilities include managing SQL Server databases through different lifecycle environments, configuring and maintaining database servers and processes, applying data modeling techniques, and performing maintenance tasks such as index de-fragmentation and data consistency checks. Troubleshooting transaction logs and Tempdb, implementing replication models, managing multiple instances, and database shrinking are also part of the role. You should have a strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Always On Availability, SQL Replication, Azure cloud, and Microsoft Clustering. Experience in query tuning, schema refinement, and providing 24x7 support for critical production systems is necessary. Additionally, knowledge of High Availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), mirroring, clustering, and AlwaysOn options for MS SQL Server is required. Qualified candidates will be able to troubleshoot and resolve database integrity and performance issues, optimize Azure Cloud with multi-tenancy, and have experience in Very Large Database (VLDB) management. Experience with Analysis Services and Reporting Services is a plus.
