Job Description

As a Senior Data Scientist at Medtronic, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and transforming commercial operations through cutting-edge data science and artificial intelligence techniques. **Role Overview:** You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing statistical models, machine learning / deep learning algorithms, and AI techniques to solve complex business problems and enhance commercial excellence. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with commercial requirements, document solutions, optimize machine learning models for performance, deploy code in production environments, monitor model performance, stay updated with the latest data science advancements, evaluate new technologies, and mentor junior data scientists. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and implement statistical models, machine learning / deep learning algorithms, and AI techniques - Translate model results into actionable insights to support business objectives - Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to understand business problems and ensure deliverables are aligned with commercial requirements - Optimize and fine-tune machine learning models for performance and accuracy - Develop production-ready code and deploy in production environments - Monitor model performance - Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science - Evaluate new technologies and apply to projects - Mentor and guide other junior data scientists **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field - 5+ years of industry experience applying data science, AI, and advanced analytics to real-world business problems - Proficiency in Python and popular data science ecosystem - Strong proficiency with SQL and data manipulation in various database environments - Understanding of diverse machine learning algorithms - Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms - Experience in utilizing GenAI techniques for complex business problems - Knowledge of software engineering best practices In addition to the above, Medtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package.
