Job Description

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive sales strategy for product-based solutions and maintenance services to meet business targets.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of sales success, particularly in the BFSI vertical.
  • Coordinate sales efforts across cross-functional teams and cultivate scalable business growth, while building strong relationships with CXOs, Product & Business Heads.
  • Manage the entire business development process from lead generation to closing deals, with a deep understanding of business applications and a strong network in the western market.
  • Drive prospecting, qualification, proposal preparation, negotiation, and closing of deals. Foster long-term relationships with prospects and customers for repeat business opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities and facilitate inter-departmental collaboration to qualify and approach sales opportunities (Budget, Authority, Needs, Timeline - BANT).

Team Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team. Utilize in-depth knowledge of sales lifecycles to guide the team in closing high-value deals, particularly in high-pressure environments.
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-driven culture within the team to ensure accountability and results.
  • Establish systems for monitoring, identifying, and engaging existing partners, while maintaining strong C-level relationships.
  • Act as an escalation point for critical issues, providing direction and engaging the team in problem resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with support teams (e.g., Software Product, Pre-Sales, Delivery, Finance, HR) to ensure seamless inter-departmental coordination and support for the sales team.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings to reinforce yearly priorities, address new business challenges, and co-create solutions with the team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage a strong market presence through an effective channel strategy and multi-point lead generation.
  • Leverage networks and alliances to uncover additional sales opportunities and expand market reach.
  • Formulate and execute plans to represent the companys offerings at various industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Set and manage customer expectations in line with our service offerings and delivery capabilities.
  • Support and align with management initiatives for new business expectations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of successful software solution sales, particularly in the BFSI vertical.
  • At least 7 years of experience in an individual contributor role (Business Development Manager).
  • Overseas experience is a plus.
  • Strong ability to understand, articulate, and position the value proposition of software solutions and services.
  • Comfortable working directly with CXOs to discuss strategy, solutions, and service offerings.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical, business, and legal issues to develop action plans.
  • Deep understanding of market trends, industry participants, emerging technologies, and evolving business models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Independent thinker and self-starter with strong listening and presentation skills.
  • Experience in the Western and Southern regions of India is mandatory.

Educational Qualifications:

  • BE/B.Tech + MBA.
  • 15-25 years of experience in leading sales for enterprise software solutions and services, preferably in the BFSI vertical.
