Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring an internal client developer to ensure a seamless transition post-engagement. As a Lead Data Engineer, your responsibilities will include assessing and enhancing existing data models, pipelines, and architecture within BigQuery. You will focus on optimizing data flows and storage for improved performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, while implementing best practices in data engineering and governance. You will also be tasked with reviewing and enhancing data collection and transformation processes to ensure high-quality, consistent, and reliable data availability. Furthermore, you will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining existing reports and dashboards using Looker, as well as designing and developing new reports based on evolving business requirements. Proficiency in building and managing data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and solid SQL skills are crucial for this role. Experience with Looker for creating/modifying dashboards and understanding LookML, as well as familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD for data solutions, are also required. Moreover, the ability to work in Agile environments and with remote teams is necessary. Exposure to GCP services beyond BigQuery (e.g., Dataflow, Cloud Functions) and soft skills such as excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and proven ability to work independently in a client-facing role, are highly valued. Experience in mentoring or coaching team members is considered a plus. In summary, the successful candidate for this role will have a solid technical foundation in data engineering, Google BigQuery, Looker, and related tools, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.,
