Job Description

As a Purchase Manager at Podar Education Network based in Akola, Maharashtra, your primary responsibilities will include managing buying and institutional purchases for CBSE Schools, developing vendors, and overseeing end-to-end purchase procedures. This involves tasks such as generating purchase requests, issuing purchase orders, collecting quotations, negotiating rates, managing work execution, handling goods receipts and invoices, and maintaining annual maintenance contracts and procurement contracts. In addition to these responsibilities, you will be required to effectively coordinate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, teams, and agencies. Project management duties will also fall under your purview, including managing new procurement, replacements, local and central purchases. Your role will extend to purchase operations and assisting school operations, along with maintaining databases and generating management information system reports. To excel in this role, you should ideally possess a BE in Civil Engineering along with an MBA. Strong negotiation skills, direct purchase experience, and vendor development expertise are essential. With 8 to 10 years of purchasing experience, you should be well-versed in procurement work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in the local language, are required. Moreover, you must be willing to travel within the region as needed to visit assigned schools and carry out all relevant duties assigned from time to time.,
