Purchase Engineer

Position:

• Vendor assessment & selection evaluating technology, quality, cost, delivery capacity, etc.
• Development, localisation & sourcing of vendors; procurement & development of new parts.
• Float inquiries, receive quotations, prepare comparative statements, handle costing, negotiate & finalise orders with management approval.
• Release purchase orders, follow-up and maintain direct contact with vendors throughout order execution till delivery and payment.
• Negotiate purchasing documents such as NDAs, general purchasing terms, contracts, and quality assurance agreements.
• Coordinate with technical teams of subsidiaries & the mother company for localisation projects.
• Assist the technical order management team in project realisation.
• Work towards cost reduction, supplier rationalisation, and disposal of non-moving inventory.
• Cross-functional liaison with design, quality, order management, stores, logistics, production, and finance teams to improve order-related processes.
• Attend order management and production meetings supporting the order process.
• Assist with procurement/administrative duties related to maintenance, repairs, capital equipment purchases, contracting services, vendor quotations for outsourcing services, new vendor development, and contract administration.
• Perform any other activities supporting management and internal departments to full fill business objectives.
