PostgreSQL expert

Key Responsibilities

Migration Strategy & Execution

Design and implement a robust migration plan from Oracle to AWS PostgreSQL.
Analyze existing Oracle schemas, stored procedures, triggers, and optimize for PostgreSQL compatibility.
Ensure data integrity, minimal downtime, and rollback strategies during migration.

AWS Integration

Configure and manage PostgreSQL on AWS (RDS/Aurora).
Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies using AWS services.
Optimize cost and performance leveraging AWS features (e.g., IAM, VPC, CloudWatch).

Database Development

Develop and maintain complex PL/pgSQL functions, triggers, and stored procedures.
Implement advanced indexing, partitioning, and query optimization for large datasets.
Collaborate with application teams (.NET, ReactJS) for seamless integration.

Performance & Security

Conduct performance tuning and query optimization.
Implement robust security measures including encryption, access control, and auditing.
Monitor and troubleshoot database issues proactively.

Collaboration & Documentation

Work closely with architects, developers, and DevOps teams.
Document migration steps, best practices, and operational guidelines.
