Network Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other network security solutions.Conduct regular network security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify, analyze, and remediate security risks and vulnerabilities.Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts, taking appropriate action to protect the network and prevent unauthorized access.Collaborate with IT and other departments to establish and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices.Ensure network security controls comply with industry standards, regulations, and organizational policies.Maintain and update network security documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.Stay informed about the latest network security threats, trends, and technologies to ensure the organization's defenses are current and effective.Provide guidance and training to other team members on network security best practices and procedures.

Qualifications:
2-5 years of network security experience, focusing on designing, implementing, and managing secure network architectures.Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewall management, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS systems, and network access control.Familiarity with network security assessment tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Nessus, or similar.Experience with network security incident response and troubleshooting.Prior experience with scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) is an added advantage.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain network security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Relevant certifications (such as CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP) are optional but not required.
