Skills/Experience:

- Bachelor's degree

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, Anatomy and Physiology

- 4 to 6 Years- experience in Medical Coding

- Fluent verbal communication abilities

- Knowledge of Healthcare terminology and ICD/CPT codes

- Strong reporting skills

- Familiar with Microsoft Excel

- Excellent typing and accuracy

-Strong working experience in E&M mandatory.

Key Skills

• Ability to read SOAP/Encounter notes and understand the medical terminology and code as per industry standards and ensure compliance.
• Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with Government and Insurance regulations
• Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures, using ICD and CPT codes
• Review clinical documentation to extract relevant information for coding, ensure optimum code utilization under regulation.
• Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear
• Communicate with other clinical staff regarding documentation
• Search for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusual
• Receive and review patient charts and documents for accuracy and ensure that all codes are current and active
• Review batch of patient notes for evaluation and coding
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding and billing regulations specific to Emergency Medicine.
