About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
• Develop and enhance CICS transactions and handle CICS table updates.
• Perform mainframe batch and online application development.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues in mainframe applications.
• Optimize performance for CICS-based applications and transactions.
• Work on incident management, root cause analysis, and production support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in Code Reviews, Unit Testing, SIT & UAT support.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and process artifacts.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in:
• COBOL
• JCL
• CICS (must-have)
• DB2 / VSAM
• Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and transaction-based systems.
• Experience in debugging tools like XPEDITER, Intertest, or similar.
• Performance tuning of CICS transactions.
• Good understanding of SDLC methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Rexx, CLIST, or automation tools.
• Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Exposure to version control tools like Endevor, Changeman, or similar.
• Experience in working in BFSI, Retail, Telecom, or Insurance domain.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Relevant mainframe certifications (optional but preferred)

Work Environment
5-day Work From Office schedule. Collaborative environment with cross-location teams.
