Lead Assistant Manager

We are seeking an experienced banking professional with a strong background in model development to join our growing analytics and risk team. The ideal candidate will bring 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in developing, validating, and implementing statistical and risk models within the banking or financial services sector.

In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end model development, including data extraction, preparation, feature engineering, model design, testing, and documentation. You will apply advanced statistical and analytical techniques, with a primary focus on SAS programming, to build predictive, credit risk, and regulatory models that meet business and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with risk managers, business analysts to ensure models are accurate, robust, and aligned with both internal policies and external regulatory standards (such as Basel, IFRS 9, and related frameworks). You will also participate in model monitoring, performance tracking, and periodic recalibration to ensure continued accuracy and effectiveness.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be expected to translate complex model outputs into clear insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, prepare model documentation, and present findings to senior management and regulators as required.

Key Requirements:

3-5 years experience in model development within banking or financial services.

Proficiency in SAS, with working knowledge of SQL, Python, or R is an advantage.

Strong understanding of credit risk, regulatory models, or financial analytics.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
