Job Description

Role Overview: As an L3 Network Engineer, you will be the technical escalation point for network issues, responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures. Your role will involve working with enterprise-grade routing, switching, LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall, and data-center networking. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive process improvements. Key Responsibilities: - Troubleshoot and resolve complex L3 networking problems such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and SD-WAN. - Design, configure, and maintain core network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc. - Implement and manage VPN solutions including IPSec, SSL VPNs, and DMVPN. - Monitor and optimize network performance using network monitoring tools like PRTG for health checks, alerts, and capacity planning. - Perform firmware or OS upgrades on network devices with minimal disruption. - Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring network issues, document resolutions, and prevent future incidents. - Create, maintain, and audit network documentation including diagrams, configuration backups, runbooks, and change records. - Develop and enforce network security policies and best practices. - Mentor and support L1/L2 network engineers, offering technical guidance and training. - Lead network infrastructure projects such as upgrades, migrations, and deployments in data center or branch environments. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. - 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a focus on L3 (routing/switching) support. - Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and other routing protocols. - Experience with enterprise firewalls like Cisco, Fortinet, etc. - Proven skills in configuring and managing VPNs, including site-to-site and remote VPN. - Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools such as PRTG or similar. - Certification such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent is strongly preferred. - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. - Willingness to work with cross-functional teams and mentor junior staff. - Experience in maintaining network documentation and configuration backups.
