IoT Technician

Key Responsibilities:

1. IoT Device & Sensor Management

• Install, configure, and maintain IoT devices, microcontrollers, and sensors (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, NodeMCU, etc.).
  
• Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues related to embedded systems.
  
• Ensure proper functioning of lab equipment and perform routine maintenance.
  

2. Embedded Systems & Programming Support

• Assist students with embedded coding (C/C++, Python, MicroPython, Arduino IDE, etc.).
  
• Guide students in interfacing sensors, actuators, communication modules, and microcontrollers.
  
• Help in debugging circuits, programs, and IoT communication protocols.
  

3. Network & Connectivity Assistance

• Manage Wi-Fi, cloud platforms, MQTT brokers, and IoT dashboards used for projects.
  
• Support students in connecting devices to cloud services such as AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, Firebase, Thingspeak, etc.
  
• Monitor network connectivity and ensure secure and reliable device communication.
  

4. Lab Operations & Safety

• Maintain inventory of kits, modules, sensors, and consumables.
  
• Organize lab equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
  
• Prepare the laboratory for practical sessions and support faculty during demonstrations.
  
• Ensure all safety guidelines and ESD precautions are followed.
  

5. Student Guidance & Project Support

• Assist students in designing and executing IoT, embedded, and electronics-based prototypes.
  
• Provide technical guidance in circuit design, PCB development, soldering, and testing.
  
• Review project progress and offer troubleshooting assistance.
  
• Encourage innovation and hands-on learning through practical demonstrations.
  

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain equipment usage logs, purchase records, and maintenance reports.
  
• Help prepare lab manuals, worksheets, and documentation for academic audits and accreditation.
  
• Update project repositories, code samples, and reference materials for students.
